Our first fellowship class finished their program last week. As we gathered for our virtual graduation ceremony after nine weeks of education and community, we reflected on how much we learned: from the incredible trainers, from our partnership experiments, from each other.

When the program began in October, we asked the creators to answer this question: On a scale from 1 to 5, how confident do you feel in sharing accurate information?

Before the program, they averaged an answer of 3.95. We asked again at the completion of the program: 4.475.

The Trusted Creator Fellowship increased creators’ confidence in their ability to share accurate information with their communities. This is wildly important as creators play an outsized role in the information economy: A fourth of Americans under 30 get their news from online creators. The 20 creators in our inaugural class came from 12 states and territories, with audiences of nearly 2 million people.

We will host two more cohorts of the Trusted Creator Fellowship in 2026. Applications are open for the Trusted Creators spring 2026 cohort, and we’d love for you to share this program with your network so we can continue to serve creators who are making a difference in their community.

NCC in the news

NCC’s training emphasizes merging that conversational tone with journalistic discipline. Fellows learn to verify claims and credit sources. “The vibes might be different, but at the heart of the work, it’s the same,” Rachel explains. “It’s about accuracy and giving people the full picture.”

Take our survey

We are compiling a comprehensive guide that digs into the sticking points as newsrooms and creators consider collaborating.

Newsrooms, we want to know your biggest questions in partnering with creators. Are you unsure of how to monetize the partnership or how editorial oversight would work? If you’ve considered partnering with a creator, tell us what your newsroom was hoping to get out of it and any of the concerns or challenges you’ve had. You can fill out a short questionnaire here.

Creators, what are the benefits you see in working with newsrooms? What are some of the concerns or questions you have? If you’ve considered partnering with a newsroom, we want to hear about the pros, cons and unknowns you’ve weighed. You can fill out a short questionnaire here.

What we’re writing

It’s nearly impossible to have a healthy debate when you can’t agree on basic facts, but you can discuss the misinformation in the conversation.
